The late Tupac Shakur is set to be resurrected on the silver screen.
According to Deadline.com, Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films and Morgan Creek Productions have joined forces to co-finance and co-produce the film based on the rapper's life. The project is tentatively titled "Tupac."
Apparently, a script is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, with production scheduled to begin in February 2014.
The film will have a $45 million budget. The production houses have also secured the rights to use Tupac's music catalog, and the rapper's mother, Afeni Shakur, has signed on to be one of the film's producers.
The upcoming Tupac movie isn't the only Tupac-inspired project coming to fruition. An upcoming Broadway musical titled "Holler If Ya Hear Me" is in the works. While the musical isn't based on the rapper's life, it will use his music to evoke various themes.
