Cherry’s street sensibility and radio savvy ways placed her as a recognizable female force behind the microphone. Once Emerson College granted her with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Cherry was set for the big league radio markets. Her placement among seasoned veterans in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, New Yorks, and a position at Sirius Satellite Radio proved Cherry's knack for providing quality material for her listeners.
From intern to entertainment reporter, Program Director to full-time personality, Cherry Martinez’s current gig at New York’s WWPR Power 105.1 has earned her the top position in her time slot. WWPR’s Power After Hours show from 10pm to 2am, gives Cherry an outlet that allows her to bring listeners closer to their sexy and sensual sides.
Although the sassy yet sweet radio jock runs New York's night time radio market, delving into other entertainment projects gives the Cherry Martinez brand the opportunity to flourish. Hosting duties for the Access Entertainment Network’s hip-hop show "420? Degrees" and BET's "Live From L.A." and film roles such as DJ Pooh's Three Strikes and a church satire titled Reverend Do Wrong Ain’t Right provided a look into Cherry’s versatility off the airwaves. Even fashion labels like Chevere Clothing have called on the radio jock to model the company’s apparel in the pages of reputable urban magazines, Rap Pages and Blaze.
