He claimed that it would have been impossible to win the Tour de France titles he had without using the drugs.  He goes on to say though he did feel he was living “one big lie,”  he did not feel like he was cheating at the time since doping was so common amongst the riders. “I looked up the definition of cheating and the definition is ‘to gain an advantage on a rival or foe’. I did not view it that way. I viewed it as a level playing field.” He admitted to using Erythropoietin, a blood booster, and steroids as well as blood doping and
human growth hormones. He also admitted to using testosterone.
