Jay Wright's Bio
Jay can be currently heard on Power 105.1 as the Weekend Jock for the station. Wright’s radio career started in 1988 while attending Hampton University in Virginia.
He served as a Disc Jockey and News Announcer for WHOV-FM, the University's independently operated radio station. After completing graduation, Wright worked at WLPM-AM and then went on to spend six years at 103 JAMZ (WOWI-FM)-Virginia Beach’s #1 Hip Hop & R&B Station. He also tried his hand in television production at WTKR-TV (CBS).
In 1993, Wright was called back to be the General Manager of WHOV-FM, the place were he started his career. As General Manager, he garnered several national radio awards for the station from Billboard, Gavin, Impact, Lee Bailey (RadioScope), National Association of Black Journalists and many others.
In 2001 he was hired by Sirius Satellite Radio in NYC as the premier producer for all the Hip Hop and R&B channels in their nationwide radio broadcast from 2001-2006 and landed even more international awards for his work there. In 2003, Wright launched PenthoueEnt.com an event planning company that hosts exclusive and upscale events for savvy New Yorkers. His clients include the Dept of Health, J Records, Universal and more.
Wright’s voice over work can be heard in various national and local TV/Radio spots for well known companies such as McDonald’s, Disney, Time Life, Wendy’s, and Sunkist as well as the Barbershop Movie Soundtrack.
Wright joined the Power 105 team in 2002 and loves the energy of the station. In his free time, he likes to hit the clubs, travel, surf the web, and catch up on the latest movies! |

The fact that THE VAULT PASSWORD PARTY was so sexy and slammin' last Saturday...combined with the fact that I hit up KANYE WEST'S BDAY BASH last night are two great reasons to bend the rules. KANYE'S BASH @ THE LOUIS VUITTON STORE (Yes, IN the store) had more eye-candy and superstar celebs than I care to list. Everyone from Jay-Z to JD...from P. Diddy to Rihanna..from Pharrell to Rock Stars...were all caught by the Penthouse Ent. camera. Today, I basically uploaded all my EXCLUSIVE PARTY PICS for the entire week and I am sending them right to you, UN-CUT, in the order they were taken. Follow me as I take you on a P.E.
